Welcome to Learning Disabilities Association


Advocacy for pre-school, school age, post-secondary, and adult. Advocacy provides information regarding SLD, the rights of persons with SLD, and support in securing school, employment, and community services.


Parent Education prepares parents to advocate on behalf of their children with SLD by teaching about applicable state and federal laws, multi-factored evaluations, individualized education plans and parent-school relationships.


Literacy Services are offered at local public libraries for 2nd and 3rd graders with learning disabilities, or those at risk. Children and parents or other caregivers meet weekly for reading and library activities in a casual atmosphere.


Social Skills provides instruction for children in grade 3-5. Topics include making and keeping friends, and behavior and consequences. This program is offered in a small group setting. Recreational opportunities in class help children practice their social skills.


Parent Support encourages parents to communicate with other parents in an unstructured manner by creating a mentoring situation.
